Scholarship Opportunities for Migratory Students

The following is a list of scholarships offered specifically to assist migratory students. Click the scholarship name to learn more about each opportunity.

The Albert Lee Wright Jr. Memorial Migrant Scholarship is intended to assist migratory agricultural or fishing students who are dedicated students with a significant financial need who have moved with their family or on their own for agricultural or fishing employment.


Eligibility Requirements:
  • Be a migrant student
  • Be a dedicated student
  • Be a graduating high school senior
  • Demonstrate financial need

ACET offers twenty scholarships annually to graduating high school students. The tuition scholarships are for $1,000, and are payable directly to the college, university, or other post-secondary institution of the student's choice.


Eligibility Requirements:
  • Participation in a compensatory education program at some time in school career
    • Compensatory Education includes programs such as Title I, Bilingual/ESL, State Compensatory Education (SCE), Migrant, and Homeless.

The AMET Scholarship program is designed to assist college migrant students who are prior AMET scholarship recipients and high school seniors (including early graduates) who have a history of migration in addition to having the potential and desire to obtain a college degree.


Eligibility Requirements:
Be a prior AMET Winner
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution (public or private college, technical or vocational school)
  • Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

Be a graduating high school senior or junior (early graduate)
  • Must have a current Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for the Migrant Education Program during the student's final year of high school
  • Must enroll in an accredited educational institution (public or private college, technical or vocational school) in the summer or fall semester following high school graduation
  • Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

The High School Equivalency Program (HEP) and the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) serve students whose families work as migratory or seasonal farm-workers. The National HEP/CAMP Association Scholarship awards up to two students per program each year. Each scholarship winner is awarded $1,000.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have earned an HSE (high school equivalency) through an HEP program within TWO years of the application date.
  • Provide proof of enrollment in an institution of higher education (IHE) or other post-secondary education or training program.
  • Provide a Student Recommendation and Approval Form signed by a program director.

Please note: HEP graduates enrolled in a CAMP program are not eligible for this scholarship.
